Delete your account
Last updated: 22 August 2026 · עברית
You can delete your FillPal account at any time, directly in the app. This page explains how, and exactly what is deleted and what is kept. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
How to delete your account
- Open the FillPal app (Android or the web app at app.fillpal.app).
- Open the menu and go to Settings.
- Choose Account, then Delete account under “Your data”.
- Confirm with your password. (If you signed up with Google, no password is needed.)
Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. If you would like a copy of your data first, use Settings → Account → Export my data, which downloads your profile, trips, fuel entries, and groups as a JSON file.
If you can’t sign in
Email us at [email protected] from the address on your account and ask for deletion. We may need to verify that the account is yours before acting. We aim to respond within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your profile — name, email address, password, and avatar.
- Your push-notification tokens and your entire notification history, so your devices stop receiving anything from us.
- Carpool rides you created, including their recorded drives and participant list.
- Your name and link to carpools created by other people; your entry there becomes “Deleted user”.
- Any group where you are the only member — the whole group is removed, along with its cars, trips, GPS routes, fuel entries, and settlement history.
What is kept, and why
If you share a group with other people, that group’s financial history has to stay consistent for them — deleting your side of it would silently change what everyone else is owed. So in shared groups we anonymise instead of erasing: your trips, fuel entries, and settlement records remain as part of the group’s ledger, but they are no longer connected to an identifiable person. Your account is stripped of your name, email address, password, and avatar, and shows only as “Deleted user”. Once no shared records reference you at all, the account itself is fully removed.
We may also retain information where we are legally required to, or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Routine backups expire on their own cycle rather than being edited individually.
